Avantis is the third mixer based on Allen & Heath’s 96kHz XCVI FPGA engine, putting all of their next-generation technology into a 64 channel / 42 configurable bus mixing console, including dual full HD touchscreens, extensive I/O options, an extremely flexible workflow with Continuity UI, and a rugged metal chassis.
 
Avantis is equipped with two large touchscreens that total 206 square inches of screen space and operate in full 1080p resolution. Continuity UI allows a seamless workflow between the hardware controls and the displays, allowing users to see and immediately interact with what matters most.
 
Faders on the Avantis react to touch and instantly highlight the active channels, giving immediate visual feed back. The channel rotaries give access to fans or pans, and at the touch of a button, dynamically fold the visual display to show EQ or compressor settings across the entire bank of channels. The right-hand side of each screen also features a FastGrab tab, giving lightning-fast access to freely-assignable parameters such as auxiliary sends, signal processors, and effects on the selected channel.
 
In short, the entire system is designed to dynamically show the information needed most at any moment, putting control right at your fingertips.
 
Avantis is also packed with effects that were inspired by some of the most revered outboard equipment, including reverbs, delays, and modulation effects. Each effect takes only 1 of the 12 available FX slots and have dedicated stereo returns; no need to waste input channels with Avantis’ effects.
 
Offline editing and online control is available with Avantis Director, a free Windows and Mac OS application. Offline mode is available to use for the creation and editing of show files and system configurations. Online mode enables full remote control of the mixer, giving engineers the ability to make changes from anywhere in the venue. Avantis MixPad gives the same wireless control functionality to iPad users.
